About Bos Sod Farms

In 1981 with a family of 7 children the Bos family emigrated from the Netherlands to Alberta, to start a sod farm. In 1993, Bert one of the children moved to Abbotsford, BC and started the sod farm. Bos Sod is presently still owned and operated by Bert & Debbie Bos, their staff and children.

We are a medium size sod farm, focused on producing top quality sod for golf courses, athletic fields and residential homes.

The farm is situated on the former Sumas Lake, which was drained in 1924. The sandy loam soil is ideal for growing sod
in addition it has level ground and a good water supply. Most of our sod products are grown on pure sand which is brought in for each new crop. This ensures that the sod has excellent drainage and will keep the farm sustainable for generations to come.

Over the course of being in business, we have been blessed to be able to serve over 350 golf courses, in addition to numerous landscapers & home owners. We look forward to how we may serve YOU!
