The Art of Music Centre is a music school located in the heart of downtown Maple Ridge and is owned by local country musician, Brett Johnson.

From 2010 to 2015, Brett spend time as a guitar teacher in Abbotsford, BC with A&D Music. With A&D Music being one of (not if) the top music school in Abbotsford, Brett spent years learning how to operate a music school from their owners, Asger & Deb Hansen. Watching how they successfully ran their school, Brett came up with the idea to use the same model and open a similar facility in Maple Ridge, BC.

February 2016 saw the doors officially open at the Art of Music Centre in Maple Ridge and quickly saw a huge number of students sign up for lessons within the first few months. Having 8 teachers on staff working hard to teach the students, they help make the school a fun atmosphere when you walk through the doors everyday.

The opening of the Art of Music Centre has created a big buzz and excitement throughout the Maple Ridge community and as a result have had a very successful first 5 months. Getting ready for a big advertising push this summer, the start of the new school year in September is sure to be very busy.

The Art of Music Centre is excited to have adopted the Tritone Music Academy (TMA) piano program. TMA is an alternative and practical approach to learning music that is endorsed by leading universities and used world-wide. We are also pleased to have Deb Hansen as our senior piano instructor/trainer. Deb was instrumental in writing the TMA Intro Teachers Guide and with that success was commissioned to write the Level 1 Teachers guide, which both were published by Hal Leonard and are used by teachers world wide. Deb is also the BC co-ordinator for the TMA Regional Festival.
Art of Music Centre is the only music school in Maple Ridge to offer the TMA program.

Also offering popular modern programs in guitar, voice, drums, bass guitar, violin, ukulele and band instruments, Art of Music’s goal is to teacher each student what they wish to learn along with the necessary material to be able to play the instruments.

The schools biggest asset, is the quality of teachers that we have staff. We are very fortunate and proud to say that we have the best teaching staff that you will find in Maple Ridge.
